Obituary: Elias DeLyle "Dee" Erickson
Elias DeLyle "Dee" Erickson 1908 ~ 2005 Elias DeLyle "Dee" Erickson passed away on Tues., June 28, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 96. He was born to Elias "W" Erickson and Leona Melvina Cox on Sept. 3, 1908 in Ferron, Utah; and was the oldest of four children - two brothers, Ronald K Erickson and Refell L Erickson (both deceased), and sister, LaRue Miller. Dee married Vera A Anderson Mar. 20, 1934 in Miami, FL and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were parents of three sons and two daughters: K Duane (Thinn) Erickson, G Brent (Kathy) Erickson, Lyle Van (Jill) Erickson, Barbara (Gary) Lambert, and Julia Leah Erickson (deceased). He was a loving grandfather to 35 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Following Vera's death, he married Gladys M Lambourne, June 17, 1973. His was a life of service. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he fulfilled many callings including Branch President, Executive Secretary to five bishops, Membership Locator missionary, and temple worker for 22 years. He was the Charter Pres. of the So. Cottonwood Lions Club, and was an active member for 52 years promoting many community projects such as helping to finance "Wheeler Farm." As a volunteer at Wheeler Farm, he was a tour guide and drove the team of horses for the hay wagon around the farm. He served on the Board for 15 years. Dee loved to travel, enjoyed nature, gardening and farming, and spent time with friends and family golfing and bowling. He was especially proud of his family and pioneer heritage. He leaves us a legacy of integrity, industry, perseverance, and gratitude. We love you Dee, daddy, grandpa. The family wishes to thank the loving caregivers at the Avalon Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2005, at the Little Cottonwood Stake Center at 12.00 p.m., 6180 S. Glen Oaks (850 East), Murray, Utah. Friends and family may call from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Lakehills Memorial Cemetery.
