  Ruby Fay Roundy, 87, our beloved wife and mother, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, from her home in Escrito. She was born May 4, 1920, in Hammond, to Charles Fredrick and Sarah Ellen Gardner, the sixth of eight children.
  
  After graduating from high school, Ruby married Fred F. Roundy in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She worked at Geneva Steel Mills during World War II while Fred was in the war in Germany, France and Belgium. After the war, the family moved to Allison, Colorado, and purchased a dairy farm. They later moved to New Mexico where Fred worked for El Paso Natural Gas, and Ruby worked as a school bus driver and school cook for 22 years. After retirement she continued to work as a mail carrier for another 25 years.
  
  Fred and Ruby were avid rock hounds. Their favorite vacations were spent camping, boating and, in later years, riding their dune buggy looking for rocks, and taking their grandchildren for rides.
  
  Ruby held many positions in the LDS Church. She wrote poetry and found beauty in everything that she set her eyes on, especially her children and grandchildren.
  
  Ruby is survived by her husband of 69 years, Fred Roundy; three children, daughter, RaNea Sadahiro of Aztec, son, Bryant Roundy and wife, Janell, of Bloomfield, and son, Leland Roundy of Farmington. She also has 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
  
  She was preceded in death by a son, Oris Roundy.
  
  Visitation for Ruby will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Escrito, mile marker No. 105. Interment will follow at the Roundy family cemetery.
